ktvu's jade hernandez live in oakland where that young boy is being treated tonight and she has new information on just where this gunfire came from. >> reporter: hartsfield-jacksoni cs threw that 7-year-old boy to the hospital earlier this evening. we have whopper video of the helicopter arriving as children as hospital. hospital antioch police a the little boy is going to be all right. police are concerned how the shooter wound this boy. investigator say someone fired multiple gunshots into this home around 4:30 this afternoon during a family bbq. the 7-year-old was visiting with his family from out of town. no one else was hurt. investigators say the shooter fired the rounds from an area near the g street over crossing which can be seen from the backyard area. police have not made any arrest, but since thursday, oakland, richmond and now antioch have shyoung children rushed to children's hospital with gunshot wound. for now, antioch police are investigating this particular incident, but the good news is that little boy is going to be all right. >>> a tearful scene in sonar's miss

are following breaking news out of downtown oakland. police are investigating a fatal shooting. christien kafton is live for us. >> reporter: let me tell you this is a large crime scene. it's spread out over five blocks here in downtown oakland. right now alameda county coroners office is on scene here just about to load the victim into a van to remove him from this scene. there was a very expensive sports car just about seven or eight minutes ago that expensive sports car was towed out of the area. we have video of what the scene looked like earlier. police say they responded to the scene around 3:00 this morning and found the dead man in the street with numerous shell casings around him. and there is another scene just about a block away with more shell casings there and a half block away again that very expensive sports car. it looked like ans aton martin vintage. that sports car is certainly part of this investigation. we saw investigators looking over it with flashlight and trying to get a little bit more information about that. as mike said a couple moments ago, this shooting happened when

. >> help is on the way. an effort to make the votes of oakland safer, it is the top story. good afternoon, i am tori campbell. the oakland police department graduate its first academy of police officers in 4 years today, brian flores is live in oakland to explain how this may make the streets safer. good afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon, the goal certainly is to make the streets safer in oakland. as you mentioned the first graduating class since november of 2008, not only a big day for them but also for the families who have sacrificed so much. this is the city's 166th police academy class, 38 officers graduated today, including two from vallejo, the class marks the first of many things, for one the first class under police chief howard jordan and mayor jean kwan and the first diverse class in its history, out of the graduating class 11 different language including those. the chief says it marks a turning point for them and this new class is meant to do that, and he hopes that. he does say this class has boosted the department's morale. >> for the last six months the president of t

7 news. >> thank you, kira. developing news, oakland police are checking into the city's latest homicide. a fatal shoot owing curd just a few hours ago. police aren't saying much about the victim. they pound the victim with a report of shots being fired around 3:00 this morning. when they arrived near ninth and clay streets, they spotted a person suffering from gunshot wounds. victim dialed at the scene. daly city officials are investigating a crash on eastmore avenue that left three people dead. a fourth in the hospital. all of them were cut out of a car broadsided by another vehicle shortly after 8:00 last night. police are trying to piece together what led up to that crash. the second driver stayed at the scene, but police still would like to talk to any witnesses. >> any witnesses tell you about anything that transpired. >> thatafter right now. we are investigating the collision and it's very early in the vision so there will be a lot of work 20 do. >> the sole survivor in the car that was hit is being held for observation at the hospital. detectives have not had the chance

. >> this morning, oakland police continue to question several people in connection with the latest homicide. a man was shot to death, another was seriously hurt yesterday morning. officers surrounded a home on 25th avenue and international boulevard where they believed the suspect was holed up. they arrested a man. they detained at least since other people after a ten-hour stand off. a person drove the two victims to the hospital. one of the victims died. this is the 18th homicide of the year in oak. >> firefighters are letting a delta wildfire burn uncontrolled. they say it does not pose a threat on lower sherman island where the second meadow rivers comes together with the san joaquin. you can see thick black smoke in the air. the fire department is letting it bun because it will be difficult to reach and no person or building is threatened. the smoke drifted over antioch bringing down soot and ashes. >> you could clearly see big ash that was coming down with all the soot, in my hair, in my backyard, all over my dog. >> local hospitals have not reported breathing problems from the smoke. >>the o
